Southpark Season 5

The season 5 of the animated comedy series South Park debuted on 20th June 2001. The season aired a total of fourteen episodes. In the first episode, the citizens of South Park are hit by a mysterious plague after they popularize the word Shit which is used in an uncensored episode of a crime drama on TV. The boys launch a crusade to get back Big Gay Al as their scoutmaster, who has been fired due to his sexual preferences while Timmy becomes jealous of Jimmy, the new handicapped boy in town.

Kyle joins the cult headed by magician David Blaine after watching his show and attending his workshop and Stan seeks the help of Jesus and his superhero friends to rescue Kyle. Cartman makes elaborate plans to take revenge on an older kid, Scott Tenorman, after he tricks Cartman time and again. The kid’s idols Terrance and Phillip have a fight and the kids try to unite the Canadian duo so that they can recruit them in time for South Park’s Earth Day celebrations.

Kyle questions the existence of God after he gets a hemorrhoid when Cartman inherits one million dollars which he uses to buy his own amusement park. The unavailability of proper teaching method related to sex education results in the school causing a divide between the girls and the boys who wage a war against each other. When the boys accidentally come across a genetically engineered towel, Towelie, which is created by the government, the government takes away their video game console and the boys seek the help of Towelie to get it back.

The kids receive a goat in return for the dollars that they sent for the kids in Afghanistan and they travel to the country to return the goat they where they come across Osama bin Laden. During the school photo day, Kenny plays a practical joke which causes a couple from Wisconsin to arrive in South Park, looking for their long lost son while Butters is questioned for his supposedly bad school photograph. Kyle’s stereotypically Jewish cousin, who also shares his name, comes to live with him while the 9/11 attacks prompt Mr. Garrison to create a new means of transport.

As rich celebrities start moving in to South Park, a class war starts in the town, which forces the town people to take a stand while Token feels neglected and goes to live with his rich friends. After the government bans Stem Cell Research, Kenny is infected by a deadly muscular disease which troubles Stan while Cartman takes this opportunity to lobby Congress to restore stem cell research. In the final episode of the season, which was aired on 12th December 2001, Butters survives a murder attempt by his mother after he tells her about his father frequenting gay bath houses while his parents lie to the press along with Gary Condit, O.J. Simpson, and the Ramseys, about who killed Butters.

Season’s Top Ranked Episode - Scott Tenorman Must Die

This was the fourth episode of the season and was aired on 11th August 2001. In this episode Cartman tries to impress the other boys in his class by buying some pubic hair from an older kid named Scoot Tenorman. However, he is at the receiving end, when the boys tell him that pubes don’t count unless he grows his own. Angered upon learning this, Cartman plans to take revenge from Scott, who has cheated him out of his money more than once.
