The third season of the animated comedy series South Park started on 7th April 1999. The season aired a total of seventeen episodes. In the first episode, the kids after being forced to join a choir are sent to Costa Rica to save the rainforests with Miss Stevens as the choir leader. She takes the kids on a nature tour which end in a disaster as the group gets lost in the wilderness and have to face wild animals, quicksand, violent natives and rebel troops.

When the citizens of South Park start combusting spontaneously, Randy finds out the reason behind the phenomenon, and becomes a national hero while Cartman ends up being stuck on a cross after playing the role of Jesus in a play.
