Matt Stone is an American artist with various talents who was born to homemaker Sheila Lois, and economics professor Gerald Whitney Stone. His father was of Irish ethnicity while his mother was of Jewish decent and he considers himself to be ethnically Jewish. He has a younger sister named Rachel Stone. He was raised in Denver, and later moved to Littleton both of which fall in Colorado. Contrary to popular belief that he attended the Columbine High School, he attended the Heritage High School, in Littleton. He later went on to graduate from the University of Colorado with a degree in mathematics. It was here that he met fellow student Trey Parker, with whom he later created a series of crude animated cartoons. The two first worked together for the animated film, Cannibal! The Musical!, which caught the eye of FoxLab executive Brian Graden, who commissioned them to make a Christmas video card for his personal use. This led to the birth of The Spirit of Christmas, which was a five-minute cartoon that featured the debut of the four foul-mouthed third graders and later became the basis of the animated series, South Park. Currently, Matt lives in Venice, California.

Matt is well known in the entertainment industry as a very talented animator, screenwriter, director, producer, voice artist, musician, and actor. He has been the writer for Orgazmo, Your Studio and You, That’s My Bush!, South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut and South Park etc. He has also acted in the movies The Spirit of Christmas, For Goodness Sake II, BASEketball, Terror Firmer, Electric Apricot and Team America: World Police etc. His projects as a producer include Orgazmo, How’s Your News?, That’s My Bush!, Kenny vs. Spenny, Alferd Packer: The Musical, South Park; Bigger Longer and Uncut and South Park etc. As a television actor he has acted in Time Warped and South Park. He has also directed The Spirit of Christmas and two episodes of South Park. He has been in the music department of Alferd Packer: The Musical, South Park, South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut and Orgazmo, besides performing in the soundtrack of BASEketball, Bowling for Columbine, South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut and South Park etc. He has also appeared as himself on numerous talk shows and award functions such as The Daily Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Show with David Letterman etc. He has been nominated for seven prestigious awards, including five Emmy Awards besides winning seven other award including three Emmy’s.
